“My first night as a part of orientation week was full of fun and I got to meet a lot of new people, I knew from that moment I had made the right decision.”

How did you first hear about your scholarship?

Since I am an international student, scholarship options were so important when comparing universities. Which is why I searched for all the scholarships available at various universities to see if I had a chance of getting one. Whilst doing so, I saw the Merit scholarships Sheffield offered which not only covered a huge amount of the fees but was also available for many people unlike most of the scholarships offered by the majority of universities.

What made you choose to study at Sheffield and your course?

There were many people around me recommending Sheffield as a top university and graduates having great comments about the University. Checking the rankings in academic recognition, student satisfaction and employability rates made me feel more confident about my decision to study here. Sheffield is a highly recognised university worldwide but especially in engineering, it stands out more with its fully equipped facilities and the opportunities they provide students with. All of these points combined made me choose to study here, which I am grateful for every day.

How did you research the University to find out about studying in Sheffield?

During the university fairs taking place in my country, there were representatives from Sheffield who helped me with any questions I had. Another thing I loved about Sheffield was that they sent me various booklets about the University alongside the different steps of my application which made me feel valued, as no other university did that.

What are the highlights of your experience in Sheffield so far?

Sheffield is a place full of different activities to try, new people to meet and new risks to take. You never have a chance to get bored because there is no time to get bored.

What would you say to a student considering studying at the University of Sheffield?

Do it! Every second I have here is another memory I will remember for the rest of my life and I am so grateful for that. Both in academic and social means, this place has many great things to offer and it is waiting for you.
