My dream of studying abroad has been saved for three years, and now it can come true

How has (or will) the scholarship benefit your studies?
I am grateful to have been awarded the 2022 Intake - University of Sheffield joint scholarship! This scholarship will help me with my living costs along side my part time job.
What made you want to study overseas?
When I was a junior in school, I was really hoping to be an exchange student within Europe. However, the living costs were more than three times as expensive than in Taiwan which made it seem unattainable.
After graduating, I saw some of my classmates went to study postgraduate degrees in the UK, which made me think that I could have a chance to study abroad if I saved money for a few years.
To gain more information on studying internationally, I attended physical education fairs in Taiwan and met representatives from universities across the globe – I settled on studying in the UK! I spent around three and a half years making the necessary preparations in terms of completing my studies, getting an English Language qualification and preparing tuition fees.
Why did you choose the University of Sheffield?
I am glad that I have an opportunity to study in University of Sheffield because I know the university is highly ranked and it is a world leading institution. Moreover, Sheffield is a safe and international friendly city that I feel comfortable and can make friends from all over the world.
What impresses me so much is the efficiency of administration, I remember submitting my CAS application and within a day I had received a reply which meant I could submit my visa application quickly after that. Additionally, if I ever have any questions, I know that I can reach out and they will be answered as soon as possible.
In my opinion, University of Sheffield is a great place to study. I am excited every day I wake up!
