New look website

Welcome to our new look INTERSECTION website. Here are some of the highlights.

Uganda theatre workshopIntergenerational theatre

Over the past few months we have been busy setting up intergenerational theatre workshops in Jinja, Uganda and Sheffield, UK. Our new theatre webpages showcase the themes that came out of this work, including a gallery of performance scenes, and the impact that it is continuing to have in Jinja's Walukuba district. Further workshops will take place in Nanjing, China, from May to July 2016. We are working with filmmakers Gravel & Sugar Productions to produce a documentary about this work later in the year.

Ade SofolaNew Advisory Board members

Late last year we welcomed new Advisory Board members Ade Sofola and Fiona Matthews. Ade is Strategic Manager at the 4in10 child poverty campaign and was previously a Director of YouthACTS at the Citizenship Foundation, She brings expertise in raising the voices of some of the youngest and most vulnerable members of society. Fiona founded Earth Champions in 2000 to recognise environmental leaders in local communities. The programme has had a global reach with projects to date in Australia, China, Switzerland and the UK. We welcome the opportunity to learn from her experience of championing sustainability at the grassroots. You can find out more about the people who contribute to INTERSECTION through our new updated Staff and Advisory Board pages.

UK intergenerational group discussionTake part

We are currently recruiting individuals and families from Sheffield to take part in interviews and discussion groups. Whether you are 16 or 65, we want to know your opinions on the things people buy and use, on who is reponsible for environmental problems, and whether you think people of your generation get a fair deal.
