Third ‘Space for Sharing’ Advisory Panel Meeting - Posted 8th March 2017

The third Advisory Panel meeting for the Space for Sharing project was hosted by the University of Sheffield Information School on Friday 3rd February 2017. As well as providing an environment for Advisory Panel and Project Team Members to discuss individual Research Area developments & the emerging cross-cutting themes it also gave Members an opportunity to view the Space for Sharing exhibition. Space for Sharing Conference - Posted 8th March 2017

The ‘Space for Sharing’ project conference will take place on Wednesday 10th May 2017 at the Wellcome Trust in London. The conference is an opportunity for team members and stakeholders to come together, discuss the project outcomes and learn how they add value to specific areas of activity; it brings together all project Research Areas, exploring the emergent cross-cutting themes & how developing technologies can support interactions in online spaces. The Space for Sharing exhibition and play (performed by Dead Earnest Theatre) will also be in London for the conference day, each providing different perspectives on the project. To reserve your place at the conference please email the Project Manager (s.rainton@sheffield.ac.uk)

Photographic Exhibition at Sheffield Winter Gardens - Posted 28th October 2016

As part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science, the project is hosting a photographic exhibition in Sheffield Winter Gardens featuring a series of powerful photographic images by photographer Anton Want, and quotations illustrating initial findings from the project. The meeting was well attended and we were very fortunate to welcome 7 members from the Advisory panel to the meeting which led to some great discussions between Researchers and Advisory Panel members.

A Shared Space and a Space for Sharing/Tinder Foundation Workshop - Posted 24th November 2015

On 10th November 2015, A Shared Space and a Space for Sharing project and Tinder Foundation a held joint workshop at the University of Sheffield to discuss the initial findings from the project. The event was organised as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Sciences and was designed to find out how Tinder Foundation and its local and national partners use online health forums among digitally excluded people. The workshop was well attended with 22 representatives from 16 UK online centres from across the country, as well representatives from Big White Wall, Mind, Carers Trust, and Carers UK. Professor Peter Bath and James Richardson of Tinder Foundation co-authored a blog about the event.
