Student magazines scoop top prizes

BA Magazine Course leader Liz Nice with award winners

The Journalism Department's student magazines won three prizes at the annual
Periodical Training Council Magazine Academy awards last week - more than any
other university!

It is only the second year that our magazines have entered the prestigious PTC
awards for student magazines which are judged by industry professionals.

Our student magazine Bump, for teen mums, was runner up in Student Magazine of
the Year while we also received runners up prizes in Magazine Concept of the
Year for Bump and also for Tease, a magazine for young lesbian women.

Only five prizes were awarded this year so for us to win three of them was a huge achievement.

The awards come after V magazine, our eco mag, scooped the runners up award in student magazine of the year last year.
