Journalism student Pooja Premchandran has been offered an internship at the United Nations Headquarters in the Department of Public Information.
Pooja, who is currently enrolled in the MA in Global Journalism program, year 2012, will be interning with the Department of Public Information under the News Monitoring Unit (NMU).
Pooja will start her stint from June 8th to September 7th during which she will spend her time working with different divisions of the News Monitoring Unit.
She will be placed at the New York headquarters of UN and is expected to write news bulletins, press clippings and also garner experience in the broadcast and radio segments.
The NMU of the Department of Public Information is tasked with observing and distributing electronically, in-house, information on global media coverage about the UN, its officials and international developments.
Speaking of the offer, Pooja said: “It is nothing short of an honour to be selected for the Fall internship at the UN.”
“I thank my professors and family for all the support extended. I look forward to gaining maximum experience and knowledge from this internship and positively applying it in my career as a senior foreign correspondent.”
