Martin Conboy elected fellow of Royal Historical Society
The department's Professor of Journalism History, Martin Conboy, has been elected to a fellowship of the Royal Historical Society (RHS).
The RHS is the foremost society in Great Britain promoting and defending the scholarly study of the past. Fellowships are awarded to those who have made an original contribution to historical scholarship in the form of significant published work and the organisation of edited collections or conferences.
The award to Martin (pictured) highlights the high standing of work on the historical contexts of journalism produced at the University of Sheffield. This comprises research within the Department of Journalism Studies and in co-operation with Dr Adrian Bingham of the Department of History and Dr John Steel at the Centre for the Study of Journalism and History.
