Amala is Project Officer on the department’s research study Diasporas at War: Diasporas and Social Media Activism in the Karabakh Conflict. Working with Dr Dmitry Chernobrov, Senior Lecturer in media and international politics, Amala is conducting research into how Azerbaijani and Armenian diasporas produced, shared, disseminated and engaged with information about the 2020 Karabakh War on social media during and after the conflict. The project involves interviewing diaspora members, and conversations with conflict resolution NGOs and policymakers.
