As the department's Student Support Tutor she is the first point of contact for students experiencing difficulties during their studies. She works with both academic and support staff to ensure that our student support processes offer the best possible experience for our students.
Jess moved to Sheffield in 2001 to study English Literature and has pursued PhD research on traumatic surveillance in contemporary fiction. Between 2008 and 2011 she taught part-time in the School of English. Jess's other research interests include gender, sexuality and queer theory, war literature, and contemporary women's fiction. She is a member of the staff disability and LGBT networks.
