If I am honest, I wasn’t entirely sure of what landscape architecture was when I began university. I knew that I wanted to progress in something that would make a positive difference to our environment, while applying a creative approach in doing so. I soon came to understand and was interested in how landscape architecture is a key discipline for achieving sustainable development, which required innovative thinking and skills to undertake it. This, combined with a love for the outdoors, led me to pursue the subject.
The MLA year gives us a real sense of independence, choosing our own modules and completing a project with our own individual briefs. This has given me a lot of confidence in making concise decisions and has equipped me for the future.
