Criminology course ranked UK's number 2 in the Guardian University Guide 2019
The School of Law is delighted to share the news that we are placed second in the UK to study Criminology in The Guardian University League Tables 2019.
The Guide, published this week (29 May 2018), ranks Sheffield’s BA (Hons) Criminology second only to the University of Surrey
Professor Robert Burrell, Head of School of Law, said: "I am delighted that the hard work and dedication of our staff and students has been recognised in in this league table. Our Criminology team is world-class and this is reflected in the quality of the student experience."
Professor Craig Watkins, Interim Vice-President and Head of the University’s Faculty of Social Sciences, added: “I am delighted with such positive results for departments across the Faculty of Social Sciences in this year's rankings. These outcomes reflect our commitment to excellence in teaching and research and to the delivery of a world class education and outstanding student experience.”
The rankings are based on official data collected by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and the National Student Survey (NSS), published by HEFCE.
This latest ranking also follows the University being named among the best institutions in the world in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018. Sheffield Students’ Union has also been named number one for the 10th consecutive year in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2018.
