Scope of Research

I am currently engaged in qualitative research centred on sex workers in the UK and how they manage their everyday identities with the challenges of their working lives. My thesis will examine how those who choose to work within the sex industry feel labelling and popular stereotypes affect them both personally and professionally with particular emphasis on the notion of stigma. The broad aim of my doctoral study is to uncover the true nature of sex work in the UK now.
