Academic Profile

Emma teaches part time mainly on the Legal Practice Course (LPC). She specialises in Business Law & Practice, Acquisitions and Mergers and Commercial Law and is the module leader for Solicitors Accounts. She has also, in the past, delivered undergraduate modules and teaches WiNS to her undergraduate tutees.
Emma has 17 years experience of delivering vocational legal education at Sheffield University. Prior to working on the LPC, Emma worked as a corporate solicitor in well-regarded commercial firms in both Leeds and Sheffield. She has experience in a wide range of company and commercial matters and specialised in business acquisitions and disposals.
Whilst Emma does not have any research responsibilities as part of her role, she keeps up to date with changes in the law and practice and current teaching methods for the subjects that she teaches.
Emma studied law at Newcastle University before completing her LPC in Sheffield. Since working on the LPC, Emma has obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
