Processes and Policies

The following pages have been developed to provide you with up-to-date advice and guidance and to share new developments in Learning and Teaching.  Here you will find institutional policies relating to Learning and Teaching, supporting information, forms and links to other areas of the University of Sheffield website such as relevant Student Services pages, and the Toolkit for Learning and Teaching in which you will discover many examples of good practice from across the University on the various topics covered, and plenty of resources for further reading.

The main sections are:

QA Processes

This section covers topics such as module and programme approval and review, reference points, collaborative and distance learning programmes, regulations and programme specifications, Key Information Sets (KIS), annual reflection and periodic review, policy and guidance review and service teaching.

Assessment Policies

This section covers topics such as assessment, feedback, external examiners, unfair means, marking and moderation, retaining assessed work, viva voce assessment and accessible assessment.

Student Support Policies

This section covers topics such as providing information for students, induction, personal and academic support, placement learning, trips, personal development plans and the sheffield graduate development programme.

Other Policies

This section covers topics such as e-learning, dual degrees, recognition of prior learning, student attendance, associate tutors, inclusive learning and teaching, student engagement, student evaluations and University of Sheffield International College processes, such as the role of the Link Tutor and forms for adding, withdrawing or changing progression degrees.
