Kate Taylor-Jones

In 2015, Kate Taylor-Jones joined the School of East Asian Studies at the University of Sheffield as Senior Lecturer.

She has worked with various film festivals including the London East Asian Film Festival, the Japan Foundation Touring Program, and the London Korean Film Festival.

In February 2018, Dr Taylor-Jones organised Japan Now North, a festival of Japanese art, literature and film that took place in venues across Sheffield.

Dr Taylor-Jones is the author of

• Divine Work: Japanese Colonial Cinema and its Legacy (2017)
• Rising Sun, Divided Land: Japanese and South Korean Filmmakers (2013)
• She is editor-in-chief of the East Asian Journal of Popular Culture, and has co-edited (with Fiona Handyside) International Cinema and the Girl: Local Issues, Transnational Contexts (2016)
