Westlaw has changed - please read this page before you start to use it!
Westlaw UK has moved to a new platform - when you access it for the first time, you will have to enter your name and your University of Sheffield email address (see 'Access' below).

Westlaw UK includes cases, legislation, and legal journals (some full text, some abstract only). It also provides EU materials, an Index to Legal Terms, and current awareness content. Westlaw Books includes over 300 titles. Books can be accessed from links in Westlaw UK, or use the drop-down menu marked 'Viewing' at the top left. International and US content can be accessed from the 'Region' drop-down menu at the top left.

Some materials are not within the scope of the current subscription, including the News service. There is limited access to Practical Law content.

Access is available directly from this page by connecting to the Westlaw website - you'll be prompted to log in to MUSE as necessary.

The first time you connect you will be prompted to give your name and email address, which must be your @sheffield.ac.uk email address. This will enable you to use personalised research features, including email alerts for new content, favourite pages, annotating documents and creating folders to save and organise documents. It will also enable Westlaw to provide assistance with your account if necessary.

There is a link to 'User Guides' at the bottom of each Westlaw UK page and a 'Request Training' link that includes video guides and details of training webinars.

If you experience any difficulties in using this eresource please call the Library Help Service on extension 27200 or email library@sheffield.ac.uk.
