Athens accounts for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health

Staff and students teaching or studying on an NHS commissioned course are entitled to access the resources of NICE Evidence http://evidence.nhs.uk/. To connect to these resources an Athens account is required.

An Athens username and password will only give you access to the national NHS resources. These include the BNF and BNFC mobile apps.

All recommended reading for your course is provided by the University of Sheffield and is accessed via your MUSE login.

To register for your Athens account contact athensaccounts@sheffield.ac.uk

Once your Athens account has been set up, you will receive an activation email from Athens, please follow the instructions to access your account. Please note the activation code is only valid for 30 days, if you do not activate your account in this time, you will need to request another account. The account will expire at the end of your studies, or if you leave employment with the University.

If you would like to use the British National Formulary mobile app, please be aware that you will need to log into your Athens account on a computer and use some of the resources that require you to log in in the first instance. If you attempt to log in to the app before following this guidance, you may find that you are unable to do so.
