Information for part-time and distance learning students
Wherever you are in the world - provided you can access the internet with a modern web-browser - it should be possible for you to have access twenty four hours per day, every day of the year, to the electronic web-based resources and services provided by The University of Sheffield. These include the Library’s electronic journals, books and subject databases.
When you first register (online) with the University, you will be given a University of Sheffield username (which cannot be changed) and asked to create a password. Use these to access MUSE. You will also be given an email address which we use to correspond with you.
When you sign in to MUSE, click on My services to open the menu and then select StarPlus – Library catalogue. From there you can access all the Library web pages from the menu on the left-hand side of the page.
The Quick links on this page offer you direct access to the wealth of information about making the most of the Library’s services and resources.
Please note also the link for further information that may be of particular relevance for Distance Learning students.
