Widening Participation Programmes – Schools and Colleges
Induction and orientation visits to the Library are welcome, by appointment, for those students participating in the University's widening participation programmes. Students will be given a tour of the chosen Library site, with an explanation of how the Library service operates for students at the University of Sheffield. In addition, specific activities relating to programme topics may be included in the visit. Groups of children under the age of 18 must be fully accompanied and supervised and the responsibility for their safeguarding will not be taken by Library staff. Please note there are particular periods during the year (for example, exam periods) when visits and group activities may not be accommodated. To arrange a group visit or for further details please email email@example.com.
Access to the Library on an individual basis is permitted for visitors over the age of 16 who are registered on the University's widening participation programmes. Young people aged 16 and 17 must first register as external readers and parental consent will be required prior to registration. Please note that children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult when visiting the Library.
All users of the Library are requested to observe the Library regulations and to be considerate of other Library users.
External customers are not able to use the Information Commons (with the exception of Alumni who can access the Information Commons during staffed service hours)
