British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship
Dr Dagmar Divjak of the School of Languages and Cultures has been awarded a British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship. This success has come in the face of very strong competition: 323 applications were submitted for assessment at the outline stage; 55 applicants accepted the invitation to submit second stage applications, and the Academy was able to make just 35 offers of award at this stage. This gives a success rate of under 11% overall.
Frequency in Language. Context, Memory and Attention
Dagmar’s project is entitled Frequency in Language. Context, Memory and Attention. The project outputs will consist of a monograph, under contract with Cambridge University Press, for an academic audience, and an iTunes U documentary series on language, memory and attention with guidance notes for the design of foreign language teaching materials.
