Coming from the peak district, my entire University education has taken place at the University of Sheffield, encompassing my BA (Hons) in Accounting and Financial Management, MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and MA in Social Research. I am now in the first year of my PhD at Sheffield University Management School, where I am currently in the research design phase of my project. I am an enthusiastic and inquisitive individual, who aims to make the most of the PhD journey. My love of the countryside shines though in my area of research: the supply chain of the UK dairy industry.

Evaluating agri-food supply chain sustainability practices: a global dairy industry perspective
Scope of Research
Coming from a qualitative perspective, my research will initially explore the different approaches taken to sustainability across the dairy industry, both in the UK and abroad. The perceived role of power in ensuring sustainable practices is also of interest, as well as how that power is transmitted to different stakeholders. Although the economic hardship facing dairy farmers is a motivation for this research, a triple bottom line approach to sustainability will be taken to capture a wide range of approaches.
