Dian was previously a banker, specialising in wealth management and transaction banking. She was also a training specialist, teaching service blueprints and banking product knowledge to new frontline staff. She developed the management trainee program for several banks in Indonesia. Before that, she worked in the Human Resources department at multinational companies such as Phillips and LG. After working in the industry, Dian pursued an academic career as a researcher at Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia, and then a PhD at the University of Sheffield. Her research is mostly on regional development, influenced by her experience in the banking industry.
Dian is a teaching associate in ESIB subject groups. She has taught research methods, marketing, strategy, entrepreneurship and international business at all levels. She also delivered study skills and employability modules. Dian was nominated for an education award in the Teaching Practice category at The University of Sheffield.

Dian currently teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students in the area of strategy and international business. Dian believes interactive teaching styles promote an atmosphere of attention and engagement. She encourages student participation. She uses teaching aids that press for the answer and the student’s attention.
