Profile

Sheli joined the Management School as Teaching Associate in Marketing in 2022.

Before joining the University of Sheffield, Sheli held a variety of PR and marketing roles across a range of industries including public health, sustainable travel and education.

Broadly speaking, her interests lie within the remit of social marketing and behaviour change, with a special focus on socially-responsible marketing to children, marketing for public health and education. Her ESRC-funded PhD explored children's understanding of contemporary marketing content and the implications for marketing theory, policy and practice.

Sheli is an interpretivist researcher with a special interest in creative and participatory research methods. She has over ten years' experience in co-creation projects with children and young people and hard-to-reach communities.

Sheli is passionate about widening participation in higher education and supporting students from all backgrounds to achieve their potential.

Teaching interests

Sheli is passionate about widening participation in higher education and supporting students from all backgrounds to achieve their potential.

Her teaching style is influenced by her own experiences and professional background. She uses a range of techniques in her teaching practice to engage students with a variety of learning styles and continuously seeks out opportunities to develop her own skills and knowledge.
