Ioana Alexandra Horodnic

Dr Ioana Alexandra Horodnic joined the Management School as a Marie Curie Fellow in September 2017. Her post-doctoral research project, entitled “SHADOWS: Tackling Undeclared Work in the European Union”, investigates the effectiveness of different policy measures in reducing undeclared work across the Member States.

Research

Dr Horodnic has undertaken research in the field of undeclared economy starting with 2014, a subject on which she has now published more than 50 papers. She is committed to undertake policy relevant research and to transfer the research results to policy makers. Beside articles in peer reviewed journals, which received recognition from different institutions (i.e., Emerald Awards for Excellence – 2017 Outstanding Papers, prizes from Romanian Academy, from the Romanian Ministry of Education and Scientific Research etc.), her list of publications includes reports and policy papers. For example, she was invited to write about envelope wages in transition economies by the Institute for the Study of Labour (IZA) and she co-authored various reports for the European Platform Tackling Undeclared Work.
