Dr Smitha Nair is a lecturer in Strategy and International Business at the Sheffield University Management School. Her education includes PhD in International Business & Strategy, University of Sheffield; Master of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology (Bombay, India) and Bachelor of Technology from National Institute of Technology (Calicut, India). I have authored/coauthored book chapters and scholarly articles in leading journals like International Business Review, Management International Review and International Journal of Management Reviews.
Prior to moving to academics, she was a software consultant for over 11 years having managed strategic IT projects for large multinationals
Learning & Teaching
My teaching draws from my industry experience and research so as to provide students with a holistic learning experience. I currently teach modules on International Business Strategy (Masters) & Business Strategy (Undergraduate). I am also a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
My research interests include cross border knowledge flows in multinationals, internationalization patterns of emerging market firms, M&As - post-integration issues and organizational innovation.
I am interested in supervising PhD students in the following areas:
• organizational innovation
• knowledge flows in firms
• organizational learning
