We provide support to help you perform well during your time at Sheffield. Our role is advisory; we won't carry out analyses for you but we can help you understand core concepts and the techniques that you need to use.
A few things to bear in mind:
- When attending your session, bring all relevant materials with you (lecture notes, project specification, data, etc.);
- Think about what it is that you want to address before you arrive;
- We cannot perform a statistical analysis of data which is part of a university assessment but we can help you understand core concepts and learn the skills that you may need for your analysis; this includes sample size calculations: we can help you understand what is necessary to perform a sample size calculation but we do not undertake sample size calculations on behalf of students undertaking research;
- MASH cannot take responsibility for the outcome of your work. Our advisors do not monitor or evaluate work undertaken as a result of an advice session.
Select the appropriate week and click on a time slot (10:00 to 13:00) to make a booking. Appointments are bookable up to 2 weeks in advance.
If all appointment slots are full, feel free to drop-in to MASH between 10:00 to 13:00. Whilst priority will be given to those with a booked appointment, whenever possible we will try to see you. In addition, do re-check again on the day as we do get cancellations and slots becoming available again.
