1-1 Statistics Support

We provide support to help you perform well during your time at Sheffield. Our role is advisory; we won't carry out analyses for you but we can help you understand core concepts and the techniques that you need to use.

A few things to bear in mind:

  • When attending your session, have all relevant materials available with you (lecture notes, project specification, data, etc.);
  • Think about what it is that you want to address before the start of the meeting;
  • We cannot perform a statistical analysis of data which is part of a university assessment but we can help you understand core concepts and learn the skills that you may need for your analysis; this includes sample size calculations: we can help you understand what is necessary to perform a sample size calculation but we do not undertake sample size calculations on behalf of students doing research;
  • MASH cannot take responsibility for the outcome of your work. Our advisors do not monitor or evaluate work undertaken as a result of an advice session.

Location: Digital 1-1 meeting via Blackboard Collaborate. Details will be sent to you prior to your meeting

Select the appropriate week and click on a time slot (10:00 to 13:00). Meetings are bookable up to 2 weeks in advance.

If all time slots are full, please contact us using our online drop-in booking form and one of our advisors will contact you to arrange a meeting. In addition, do re-check again on the day as we do get cancellations and slots becoming available again.
