MASH is now offering workshops for Maths. We have a range of topics available - from workshops looking at Numerical Reasoning for Psychometric Tests, to workshops that cover basic maths skills and their practical application to real-life situations.

MASH workshops are HEAR accredited. Attend any four MASH or 301 Academic Skills workshops to apply for the Academic Skills Certificate.

Psychometric tests are used by a majority of graduate recruiters. There are many different kinds of psychometric tests - this workshop will help you to prepare for the numerical reasoning test. It will consider the types of questions and delivery you may have to deal with and provides examples and practice questions for you to work on.

Preparation for numerical reasoning tests for Job Applicants & Graduates.

Following on from the first Numerical reasoning workshop, this workshop builds on and develops the skills learnt.
Providing more complex examples, it may be suitable for graduates requiring high level of numerical skills.

Back to Basics

If you've avoided formal maths for any reason this workshop is for you!

Employers want to employ numerate graduates, and here's your opportunity to enhance and demonstrate those skills.
You are likely to already be using more maths than you think; learn how to recognise what you already know and build on that knowledge. This workshop will help you develop skills in working with numbers and how they interact when arithmetic operations are applied.

Fractions and Percentages

Building on the Back to Basics Maths workshop, this workshop introduces the concept of Proportion, its various representations, and how we work with it on a regular basis. You will have a chance to practice using proportions and converting them into different forms e.g. decimals to fractions or percentages.

This workshop brings together the skills you will have learnt in the maths workshops Back to Basics and Fractions and Percentages. We will introduce the smart use of percentages, decimals and mathematical thinking in a practical environment - for example, comparing credit card deals.

Decorating - Area, Volume & Perimeter

This workshop brings together the skills you will have learnt in the basic maths workshops Back to Basics and Fractions and Percentages. We will introduce Area, Volume and Perimeter calculations, and you will learn how these can be used in a practical situations - for example, calculating costs for decorating.
