Professor John Haycock appointed Engineering at Sheffield Faculty Director of Research and Innovation

Congratulations to Professor John Haycock, appointed the next Engineering at Sheffield Faculty Director of Research and Innovation (FDRI).

Taking over from Professor David Lerner in September 2016 Professor Haycock will fulfill the role for the next three years, developing and leading research and innovation and knowledge exchange strategies across the engineering discipline.

Working with fellow Faculty Directors from across the University, and with the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation, Professor Richard Jones, he will play an important role in promoting inter-departmental and inter-disciplinary research activity.

I am excited to be taking up the Faculty Director of Research and Innovation position. The Faculty conducts some outstanding research and I’m looking forward to working with staff for increasing our opportunities across all engineering priority themes, and ensuring the quality of our research is recognised across all departments.
