Holding a Fellowship at Materials Sheffield

We pride ourselves in being a supportive environment for early career talent with the ambition to deliver world class research and leadership in Science and Engineering.

Our aim is to welcome only the best early career researchers and help develop their career momentum towards a permanent position in an enthusiastic, vibrant environment surrounded by your peers.

FellowsWe have numerous active Early Career Fellows from EPSRC, RAEng and other funding bodies which are both “home grown” or have chosen to transfer institutions to be part of our community (see below for full list).

Either transferring across, or as part of a targeted few who we actively support in applications, once in place you will be entered into our departmental fellowship development programme. Here you will have access to mentoring schemes from current and previous fellowship holders with the aim to generate follow-on funding, high impact dissemination (with workshops such as 4* paper writing and working with the media) alongside engagement with industry (via our departmental business development team).

Furthermore we are committed to make the most of your fellowship resources through access to studentships, lab space, state of the art equipment and personal development via participation in the Sheffield Leader schemes as well as training in team building and project management.
