Our range of MSc courses provide a great stepping stone towards a career in mathematics. If you have a good undergraduate degree you can build up your analytical and problem solving skills, and complete your own research project.

MSc Mathematics

Our masters degree in mathematics builds on the core knowledge of pure and applied maths from your undergraduate degree. You'll get to choose modules that add depth to your understanding of the theory, and complete your own research project.

MSc Statistics courses

We have two masters courses in statistics, covering the subject in general or its application in finance.

MSc Mathematical and Theoretical Physics

This one-year masters course has been created to equip graduates with advanced mathematical tools that can be used to explain the complex physical principles that describe the world around us.

Funding and scholarships

Funding is available, depending on your fee status, where you live and the course you plan to study. You could also qualify for a repayable postgraduate masters loan to help fund your studies. And don't forget, University of Sheffield graduates get a 10% tuition fee discount.
