Your personal tutor

LGBT for students
The University of Sheffield and its Students' Union are committed to equality and diversity for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) students.
As part of that commitment and as a way of enhancing their experience of University life we have worked together to produce the SSiD Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Student web pages. There you will find information on the extensive support and advice services provided by the University and the Students' Union as well as information about specific issues relevant to the lives of LGBT students.
We currently have 94 international undergraduates from 39 countries: Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Bulgaria, China, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Latvia, Libya, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and Thailand. The department's International Officer is Dr Liz Alvey who is the contact for enquiries.
The University International Student Support Service are available to answer any questions and queries you may have about life as an international student in Sheffield.
A number of societies are available specifically for international students, these can be accessed via the Student Union website.
Molecular Biology and Biotechnology student society
MBBSoc organises incredible themed nights, runs sports teams, invests in your academic/personal development and provides space for study support.

The Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Staff-Student Committee are officially the best Staff-Student committee at TUoS after they were awarded a Student Union Academic Award.
