Undergraduate Student Support Office for Mechanical Engineering

If you are unsure of anything, the first place that you should go to seek help is the Undergraduate Student Support Office. It is located in room (A01) in the Portobello Centre.

All staff are extremely welcoming and are able to answer more complicated queries concerning your course and are there to help you with advice and practical support when you need to do something in relation to your studies, such as if you wish to change to another programme. If you wish to see them, please speak to our Student Support Assistant Keira Sweet who can assist you.

You will also receive e-mails on your university account from the student support office; please check this regularly as well as using MOLE and the iSheffield app for details on timetables etc.

Your university email account is the primary means of formal communication between those at the University. Your academic supervisor will also contact you at this email from time to time. It is your responsibility to check this daily to see what, if any, changes may be happening to your studies and any meetings you may have. This email address also receives a lot of information regarding University wide events and announcements. Much of this information may be of no interest to you, so you might want to consider un-subscribing from many of the mailing lists you might find yourself on.

Remember, your University email address is the primary method of communication between the University and you – you must check it each day.
