Your Wellbeing

There may be times when you are struggling to cope with the demands of your course, a work-study imbalance or you may be suffering from an illness or other personal problem.

The University has many different support systems in place to help you through your time with us and the links on the right should be visited should you feel the need for some extra support.

Remember, in the first instance you can also speak in confidence to your personal tutor who is also there to help you thoughout your time with us.

University Counselling Service - For when you feel you wish to speak to someone outside the department.

Student Advice Centre - If you have problems concerning money, rights and welfare or housing.

Personal Harrassment Network - Personal harassment is defined as any behaviour that is unacceptable to the recipient and which creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment.  Specialist University advisors are available through the Harassment and Bullying Support Network.

Nightline - Sheffield University Nightline is a telephone listening service run by trained student volunteers.  Anonymous, confidential and non-directive.  No problem is too big or too small.  Need a taxi number, or the location of the nearest supermarket?  They are always happy to listen.
