Fully-Funded EngD and PhD Studentships in Machining Science
Industrial Doctorate Centre in Machining Science
The IDC in Machining Science at the University of Sheffield is a joint enterprise between the Faculty of Engineering (particularly Mechanical Engineering) and the multi-award winning Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC).
The IDC offers approximately seven EPSRC/industry joint funded Engineering Doctorate (EngD) studentships and 3 PhDs each year, with the aim of producing academic and industrial researchers with skills and expertise at the forefront of knowledge in machining science. Our EngD students are part of a vibrant research team committed to helping UK industry develop and maintain a world-leading capability in high value manufacturing sectors that involve machining processes.
