|Designing With Uncertainty|

This project looks at applying engineering knowledge to the wider environment of human interaction. It involves assessing the mode of use, ability of the user and constraints, functionality and features of the design, as well as understanding each part's inherent uncertainty before before analysing the task as a whole to design for ease of use.
The project will focus on the user-hand interface with objects, taking account of changing population demographics and understanding how that affects usability and functionality in design. The project will look at developing exemplars of design that use computational uncertainty methods to investigate the significance of different parameters and their effect on the overall design.
|Previous experience / requirements: Some experience of using finite element analysis may be useful in order to progress quickly with the study.|
