Flame Dynamics at Elevated Pressure
Supervisor: Professor Y Zhang
Many combustion devices such as a gas turbine combustor are working at high pressure. To know the flame dynamics at elevated pressure is of great importance.

In this project a variety of experimental diagnostic tools such as high speed imaging, schlieren imaging and particle image velocimetry will be applied to investigate the flame characteristics at different pressure. Advanced methodology and data processing software will then be developed or applied to gain physical insights into the complex combustion phenomena.

The applicant is expected to work both independently and in a team because the project has strong associations with other ongoing projects in the research team.
