High Speed Stereo Imaging Techniques for Flame Studies
Supervisor: Professor Y Zhang
Turbulent flames are inherently 3D in nature, which demands for 3D diagnostic techniques. Digital 3D stereo imaging techniques have progressed significantly in recent years due to the advancement of digital imaging technique and computing power.

In this project, high speed stereo imaging for flame studies developed in Prof. Zhang’s research lab will be further developed for more quantitative information extraction. Advanced algorithms will be developed to obtain useful information such as the 3D flame topology and spread velocity.

The candidate should have a good background in mathematics and they should also be interested in modern digital cameras and optics.
