Tribology of human skin
Supervisors: Matt Carré, Roger Lewis
This project will build on past research within the department to measure, model and understand the friction mechanisms that occur when human skin is in contact with different materials, under varying loads and in the presence of moisture, contaminants and/or skin products (e.g. creams). The results of the study can be applied to many products and industries, e.g. healthcare, cosmetic, sports and consumer goods.
