External students applying to Sheffield
The Sheffield Medical School welcomes external applicants to its Intercalated BMedSci Programme and our Intercalated Masters Programmes. If you are applying to Masters programmes please check with the relevant course administrators for information about application deadlines.
We are happy to accept applications from external students to the BMedSci programme up to the 31st May 2017.
If you would like to discuss intercalating at Sheffield, or would like to come up and visit the Medical School to have a look round our facilities, please contact Fran Oldale, the BMedSci Administrator she will arrange a visit.
Our BMedSci programme is made up of modules on Ethics, and Medical Statistics, with 70% of the course time being spent on a supervised research project. Sheffield prides itself on enabling students to undertake self-directed research projects in a range of clinical, lab-based and qualitative disciplines so that they develop a range of graduate research skills, including writing for publication and presenting research data. These skills are highly valued in the NHS workforce.
Projects for the 2017 application round will be advertised in early February.
You can email prospective supervisors directly to discuss their project or you can liaise with supervisors via Fran Oldale.
