MSc Molecular Medicine quiz

Test your background knowledge

Off

Questions in the quiz are mainly of the minimum standard of knowledge that we expect from students at the start of the course. If you find the quiz difficult then please take a look at our list of preparatory reading before you arrive to take the course, as much of this knowledge will be assumed.

Take the quiz

You should be able to answer almost all of these questions after a little thought (without looking at the answers first). If you can't answer a question, see if you can find the answer through studying a standard molecular biology textbook (listed below). Please see the section below for preliminary reading for the course.

The answers to the quiz are available from a link that we have hidden somewhere else in the course web pages of the MSc in Molecular Medicine.

Preparatory reading

Please be sure that you are up to speed with the material in a recent edition of one of the following books. Focus on the general structure and function of animal cells and the control of replication, transcription, splicing and translation. You don't necessarily need the latest edition here as the basic information that you need will not have changed much in the last several years.
