After graduating from the Sorbonne University in English and American literatures, I completed a Doctorate in Languages at the University of St Andrews on Charles Baudelaire's translations of Edgar Allan Poe's tales and taught French at the Universities of Hull and Manchester.
I am currently directing the Modern Languages Teaching Centre. As a teacher, I am particularly interested in languages for specific purposes (e.g. business, medicine, engineering), independent and tandem learning, and more broadly in using IT to develop new learning opportunities (e.g. video conferencing, online and flipped learning, vocabulary acquisition programmes).
