The Mobile University 2015

Friday 25–Sunday 27 September

Ding Ding! The Mobile University is back in Sheffield

In September we will be climbing on board a vintage bus with University of Sheffield researchers to meet audiences and bring our research to life. This is an invitation to join us and find out more about the research that happens at the University every day.

We will be covering topics as diverse as autonomous robots, Mills and Boon literature, infectious diseases, mindfulness, sperm and germs, insect-based foods, English nuns, and how modern day mind reading helps us fight disease. Each talk lasts 20 minutes and will also be live-streamed to a gazebo alongside the bus. The Mobile University will be parked up in three city centre locations: Barker’s Pool (Friday 25th), The Moor (Saturday 26th) and Devonshire Green (Sunday 27th).

Tickets: All the talks are free and you can collect your tickets to be sure of entry between 9.30am-10.50am each morning.

Granny Turismo

On Saturday 26th, when we pull up on The Moor, we will be joined by three members of the wonderful Granny Turismo troupe - the world’s only Shopping Trolley Dance Display Team! The ladies from Granny Turismo have been delighting audiences for years and are now one of the most talked-about acts around. When these girls arrive on their suped-up shopping trolleys, everyone takes notice.
