Peter Hill and Nigel Simeone awarded Prix Dumesnil

The French edition of "Olivier Messiaen", published by Fayard in January
2008, was awarded the Prix René Dumesnil by the Académie des Beaux-Arts
in Paris on 19 November 2008. At a public ceremony in the magnificent
seventeenth-century domed auditorium of Institut de France – founded by
Cardinal Mazarin – the members of the Académie conferred their annual
prizes for the visual arts and for music. The Prix René Dumesnil,
usually awarded for musical composition, was, exceptionally, awarded to
a work of Musicology. The prize was received at the ceremony by Nigel
Simeone on behalf of both authors.
