Applications are sought for a research assistant for the research project; “The influence of emotional responses on attention and expectation in music perception”. The project and position are funded by a Research Grant from the British Academy. The successful candidate will work in the Department of Music and will be a part of the “Music Mind Machine”, which is a research initiative that promotes interdisciplinary research of music cognition and which recently moved to Sheffield. The postholder will assist in designing and conducting experiments related to the project and analysing the collected data. Applicants should possess an interest in Music Cognition and either a degree in Music, Psychology, Computer Science or related discipline (or have equivalent experience). The post is part-time working 3.5 hours per week, days to be agreed and is fixed-term from 1 November 2009 to 28 February 2011.
