New bid submitted by Fay Hield to AHRC Connected Communities fund for research on Transmitting Musical Heritage
Transmitting Musical Heritage
A proposal has been submitted to the AHRCs Connected Communities fund to conduct a research project exploring how community musicians transmit elements of cultural heritage alongside musical sounds during educational and performance events. If successful the research will be delivered through a process of collaborative ethnography, involving three researchers from the Music department (Dr Fay Hield, John Ball and David Judge) working alongside three community music in Sheffield (Soundpost Community Network, Sheffield Babelsongs and Art on the Run). Dr Kate Pahl and Dr Richard Stedman Jones provide interdisciplinary perspectives and support.
