Senior Lecturer in Musicology, Dr Dominic McHugh, has been invited to deliver a lecture at the Library of Congress later in 2016.
The American Musicological Society’s Library of Congress Lectures occur twice a year and are amongst the most important events in the musicological calendar. The lectures are open to competition and are chosen by a panel of leading international musicologists and senior staff from the Music Division at the Library.
Dominic’s talk will be titled “In the Workshop of Lerner and Loewe: Archival Sources for the Genesis of My Fair Lady," and will draw on his extensive research into the Library’s collections over the past decade. The committee commented on the quality of the proposal, which will be broadcast online as a podcast.
More recently, in January 2016 Dominic processed the papers of Alan Jay Lerner for the Library, making them widely available to the public for the first time.
