Congratulations to Dr Dorothy Ker, Senior Lecturer in Music, who has received the 2015 Composers Association of New Zealand Trust Fund Award for her contribution to music composition. Presenting the award, Dr Leonie Holmes (The University of Auckland) cited Dorothy's high profile performances and commissions from around the world, and praised Dorothy's contribution to cultural life, commenting,

"It has always appeared to me that Dorothy has a core of stillness, an approach that seeks to thoughtfully explore all the qualities that go into sound and performance art - the meaning and symbolism of sounds, space, time and the dimensions of human performance."

The award was received during a concert of contemporary music performed by guitarist Dylan Lardelli, and violinist and University of Sheffield Senior Lecturer, Dr Renee Timmers in the University of Sheffield concert series.
