The conference was organised by Dr Tim Shephard of the University of Sheffield and Dr Lisa Colton of the University of Huddersfield, and was sponsored by the Royal Musical Association, the Plainsong and Medieval Music Society, the Music & Letters Trust, and the publishers Ashgate and Brepols.Papers uncovered the ways in which music manuscripts and printed books document the musical interests and activities of individuals and institutions during the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Tim and Lisa will be editing a book based on the conference, to be published by Brepols.
