Music and Memory at the Also Festival
At the 2015 Also Festival Dr Victoria Williamson gave an interactive presentation alongside top coach Juliet Russell (singer-songwriter and vocal coach for BBC1's The Voice) called Music and Memory.
Victoria and Juliet explored the powerful link between music and memory from the viewpoints of an experienced musician and academic researcher. Together they used images, musical interaction and debate to tackle questions such as:
- Where are musical memories stored in the brain?
- Why does music so often survive in cases of brain damage and disease?
- Why does music help us all to time travel?
Music and Memory took place at 2pm on Sunday 21st June on the main Talks Stage.
Victoria was also be a guest on Soundtrack to My Life, an event hosted by Lucie Tobin at 12 noon on Sunday 21st June. This event allows guests to choose three tracks that are meaningful to them. The music was played and guests then discussed why their tracks are so important.
Also is a boutique festival where people can immerse themselves in the work of leading writers, academics and experts, all in the beautiful countryside of Warwickshire.
