If you like hiking there is no better place than the Peak District, the largest National Park in Britain, just 5 miles from Sheffield city centre.
Chatsworth House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, includes works of art that span from ancient Rome and Egypt to Veronese and Rembrandt and until Lucian Freud and David Nash. It is easily reachable from Sheffield.
